Natasha’s own passion for fitness motivated her to make the transition from nursing to a career as a personal trainer.
After unexpected weight gain during overseas travel she found herself 10kg heavier than pre-travel. This led to her first gym membership and regular exercise regime. Within a year she returned to her previous weight and in the process exercise became a serious habit. For the first time ever she actually enjoyed running and eventually entered her first city to surf race having never run a continuous 14km before.
Since then she has completed 2 half marathons, which is something she never thought she would ever want, or be able to do. After years of regular exercise she still enjoys the way exercise makes her feel and cannot imagine her life without it. She now leans towards favouring cardio exercise- namely fun runs, sprint triathlons and ocean swims. Resistance exercise is a constant focus for her too, as it also adds strength required for cardio exercises.
After qualifying to be a personal trainer she began training clients in the gym environment. This was a good learning experience but she found herself feeling confined to the indoors and wanting to be outside in the sun and space. She then decided that outdoor training would be her arena and parks and beaches would be the best locations.
She still nurses part time and has a good understanding of the human body and how healthy, fit bodies help to make happy people.
Her mantra is everyone should be the best they can be and being fit and healthy is the best start. And anyone can do it!! Once you get started you won’t want to stop.
